Merseburg and Querfurt, two important small towns, define the
name of today's district which will soon fuse into a new district
called Saale-Kreis with today's district around Halle. Located
in the south of Saxony-Anhalt, the district Merseburg-Querfurt
is characterized by Leuna and Schkopau in the west, two towns
with Europe's most modern chemical factories, and an intense agriculture
in the east. Close to big towns like Halle and Leipzig, it is
situated in the heart of middle Germany in an economically rising
region.
The district court is located at the county town Merseburg. The
regional court is in Halle and the appellate court is in Naumburg,
which is about 35 km away from Merseburg. In Halle there are also
the labour- and regional labour court, the social- and regional
social court as well as the administrative court. Our offices
with two lawyers and three employees each are located in Merseburg
and in Querfurt.
